St. Leo the Great Parish, which began January of 1973 was comprised of 500 families formed from Assumption, st. Gregory's and St. Mary's Humble, Catholic Parishes.
Five and one half acres at Lauder and Aldine Westfield Roads was chosen for the future site of the parish community under the guidance of Paulist Fathers. The first Mass in our new church building was celebrated on February 21, 1976. Today under the guidance of the Scalabrinian Fathers, our enrollment is over 3000 families.
La Parroquia de San León Magno empezó en enero de 1973 comprendiendo 500 familias de las parroquias de la Asunción, de San Gregorio y de Santa María en Humble.
Cinco y medio acres en las calles de Lauder y Aldine Westfield se escogió para el futuro lugar de la comunidad parroquial bajo la guía de los Padres Paulistas. La primera Misa en el nuevo edificio se celebró el 21 de febrero de 1976. Hoy en día se está bajo la guía de los Misioneros de San Carlos- Scalabrinianos, y ya sumamos más de 3000 familias.

- 1973 Parish is established by Bishop Morkovsky. Paulist Fathers agree to staff the Parish. La Parroquia fue establecida por el Obispo Morkovsky. Los P. Paulistas aceptaron tomar la parroquia a su cuidado.
- 1976, First Mass in the new building. Primera Misa en el edificio.
- 1979. First Spanish Mass. Primera Misa en español.
- 1985. Fire destroys the church building. Un incendio destruye el templo.
- 1992. Due to lack of personnel the Paulist Fathers announced they must leave the parish, to be replaced by the Missionaries of St. Charles. Debido a una falta de personal, los Padres Paulistas anunciaron que dejaban la parroquia y serían remplazados por los Misioneros de San Carlos.
- 1998. Celebration of 25 years. Celebración de los 25 años.
- 2004. New J.B Scalabrini Catechetical Center. Nuevo edificio de catecismo Juan B. Scalabrini.
- 2008. Celebration of 35 years. Celebración de 35 años.

O Jesus, keep them all close to Thy Heart, and bless them abundantly in time and in eternity. Amen.
El Papa Benedicto XVI ha declarado este año el Año Sacerdotal, bajo el protección de
San Juan Vianney, el Cura de Ars, quien es el Patrón de los sacerdotes. Durante este año, apoyemos a nuestros sacerdotes mediante la oración, para que sean siempre fieles a Cristo y a su Iglesia y perseveren en su vocación.
